What's Kept Me Smiling #1

There haven't been any posts lately as I've been ill with an awful virus that gave me terrible vertigo. It's annoying, because I had plans for posts, but they were time sensitive, like a Halloween post. Guess they're going to have to wait for now. But I'm starting to get better now, and I'm well enough to write, so here I am.

I love Suzy of From the Fringe's Things That Made Me Happy This Week posts, and with permission, I'm going to start doing my own version. So without further ado, here's what's kept me smiling this week.

Autumn Leaves

Poldark

I love a period drama, and Aidan Turner is a bit of all right to say the least! Somehow, I managed to miss the very first season of Poldark, but it's now up on Netflix! While I've been ill, Mum and I have been binging on it and have now finished. It's a shame Turner is without his Irish accent in this, but he's still very pleasing on the eye, and I loved Eleanor Tomlinson in The White Queen, and she's brilliant as Demelza! I just love Demelza, period. Her accent, her way of speaking, her heart. She's just awesome. I love the love story between Ross and Demelza, and I may have swooned a little when he told her he loved her for the first time! What a heart breaking ending, though! Fortunately, we started recording series two as soon it started, so we can carry on watching! I'm excited!

Autumn Leaves

I've not been able to get out the house much with my vertigo, but the few times I have - to go to the doctors, to try and make it into work and failing when the bus ride made my vertigo worse - I couldn't help but notice the colour of leaves! Aren't they beautiful? I saw on the news this week that we're having much brighter coloured leaves because we've had a much warmer September and October. Whatever the reason, it's gorgeous to look down the street and see trees slowly dropping their red, gold, and orange leaves. Just stunning!

Potential Dates or New Friends

As long as I kept my head relatively still, I've still been able to Bumble. You know when you just click with someone? Well, that's happened, and there's been a fair amount of chatting. I've not been able to meet this guy yet, due to illness and work schedules, but this hasn't stopped the chatting. There's even been a little flirting! We just get on, so I'm hoping that if things don't go anywhere with this guy, I've at least made a new friend. It's just been really fun getting to know someone new.

Crazy Dreams

When I'm ill, I suffer from disturbed sleep and very vivid fever dreams. They're normally pretty chaotic and stressful, and make me feel like I haven't actually rested at all. Even so, my imagination gets a work out, and god, some of the dreams I've had lately. One involved being back at school, and having Science lessons taught by Jeremy Corbyn and Whoopi Goldberg. They couldn't agree on how to teach the class, so we got split up, but would observe how each class was taught. Corbyn made things really difficult, but Goldberg made things easy to understand, but the way the two acted! Corbyn would try to teach, Goldberg would interrupt, trying to explain things in a simpler way, and he would just completely ignore her. Then, on another day, Goldberg wasn't in, so my class has a supply teacher - Arnold Schwarzenegger. ... I don't know either, but amusing nonetheless!

Feeling Christmassy

It's November! (How?!) And this means that Christmas is just around the corner! I've been flicking through some shops Christmas catalogues, looking for inspiration for presents, and although they tend to wind me up with the sexism is Gifts for her: beauty products. Gifts for Him: beauty products, DVDs, computer games, novelty gifts, boozy gifts, and foodie gifts. Ughhh, women like those things, too!), I have enjoyed looking at the Christmas decorations on sale and starting to feel Christmassy! I even caught myself singing John Lennon's Happy Xmas (War is Over) to myself today! It's mad!

How has your week been? What's made you smile this week?

    1. Thanks, Suzy! I'm all good now! :) Having just finished my second of these posts, they're much more difficult than I thought. I actually started writing it yesterday, got to three things, then struggled to come up with anything else. The rest of the day brought the next three though :)

The date went so well! :D Really well, I think. It was so much fun! And oh my god, the leaves have been gorgeous, haven't they? It's just been so beautiful outside lately!
