What Kept Me Smiling #6

This week has flown by! Can you please Christmas Day is only two weeks away?! It's getting so close, and I am getting so excited! And speaking of, my list of things that made me smile this week are all Christmas related. If you're a bit of a Scrooge, you might want to skip this post, because my enthusiasm and excitement is pretty much palpable, I think. Also, I'm one item less than normal, but that's because most of the items on the list happened (read: were heard/were bought/were announced) more than once throughout the week. My week has pretty much all been about the Christmas joy! So on to what's kept me smiling this week...

Christmas Presents

Christmas Songs

I know a lot of people get sick of Christmas songs, but I really don't, I love them! Most of them, anyway. And now we're in December, the radio is playing them, and they always bring a smile to my face! So far I've heard Driving Home for Christmas by Chris Rea, (Feed the World) Do They Know It's Christmas? by Band Aid, Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin' Stevens, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee, I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday by Wizzard (MY FAVE!!!). Still waiting on Last Christmas by Wham, All I Want For Christmas is You by Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue's version of Santa Baby, and Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade. I am getting so excited now!

(Almost) Finishing My Christmas Shopping

I just have three more gifts to buy! Just three! Including one of my Secret Santas (see below), a final gift for Mum, and something for my grandma. I've bought all my presents for Dad, my brother Sam, my best mate Adam, his daughter (and a wee something for his misses), another two friends, and one of my Secret Santas (again, see below)! I've bought some of my presents for Mum, just need to add one final thing. You know, I think I probably enjoy giving presents more than I like receiving them. Adam says I'm far too generous, but I just love buying people presents! I love putting the thought in and the idea that they might make them happy, smile, or laugh - and hopefully feel loved. I bloody well love it. I would make a fantastic Mother Christmas/Mrs Claus! But my workshop would most definitely be somewhere warmer than the North Pole/Lapland.

Secret Santas

I'm being a Secret Santa for two people this year - meaning I'll also receive two presents from two different Secret Santas! The first one is with the colleagues on my floor at work, which is always really lovely! Seriously, on the day when most of us are in and we finally share out all the presents followed by a frenzy of wrapping paper being torn off... it's so awesome! It's so great seeing what everyone has received, and us all trying to work out who received what from whom! And it really gets me excited for the big day. So I found out who I have to buy a gift for this week, and I'm looking forward to trying to come up with something! The second is with Maximum Pop! Books, who brought back their Bookish Secret Santa this year. I received the details for my Secret Santa and their wishlist on Monday, and have already bought their gift! Will be posting it to them this week, really hope they like it! Considering all the presents I've bought mentioned above, I'm probably a glutton for punishment adding an extra two to the list. But as I said, I just love it!

Wrapping Presents

I'm adding this in early, because I haven't started yet, but I will later today. There are a few presents I've bought that I need to post to various people, and I need to get them sent this week to make sure they arrive in time. So it's my plan to start wrapping those ones today! I'm grinning just thinking about it! Aaah, I just love Christmas!

How has your week been? What have your highlights been?
